Re: Someone rescue me?!?!
Thu, April 30, 2009 - 6:39 PMMama , you sould check out the "couch surfing' tribe here on tribe.bet or www.couchsurfing.com ( think that's what they are called, something close to that anyeay)...good places to seek hospitality. there are others but these seem to be about sdafe, dedicated people.
I know an ex-Farm guy who lives in SLC, friend fro a few other e-lists and discussions - i;ve been following your rap about Spiritual midwifery, which has been a powerful source of spiritual guidance as well as birthing wisdom in my lie too...anyway, i can ask him and see whetehr he knows anything.
know some good folks south of SLC too, Rico Baker (former husband of the late birth-and-family-life, womancrafting Jeannine Parvati Baker) - he's in Moab part-time now, married a woman from here in California and they seem to travel between, a lot...
there;s also a really beautiful hippie hot springs (unfortunately, given that it;s central Utah, no nudity, which is weird for a caifornia cothing-optinal retreat gal like me, and for a place managed b an old deadhead) called mystic Hot Springs near there. not sure whether the guy there an help you out - we visited there when i went to see Jeannine a few months before she died, before she died, and my friend who is a glass blower did some glass work there alongside the owner...but hey, Utah is Utah.
so as they say these days, "I feel ya."
anyway, I've been wanting to connect with you. I know the air can get nasty in SC, inversion layers of smog jsut ike Los Angeles (where I grew up, more or less)...
e-mail me if you like with more contact info and we can communicate some more...i'm also sending you a Friends invite for tribe.net, watch for it.
we can caht about what hrmony fest is and isn;t these days too...my same friend and i were on staff there this last time around.
you mnight want to check out the Solar living festival in Hopland/Ukiah in August, much more a real teaching event about sustainable living
i better start dinner...my teenaged daughter is dawdling about getting home from school, and i;m not sure if my other part-time household members will be by tonight or not, but I;m hungry, and tomorrow is a May Day fest for almni and friends of the old Wheelers ranch commnes, and i think 'll play hooky (take the day off from working as a sub teacher) and go.
best of luck on all! judith
b i can put it out there.
